Blackheads form when dead skin cells and oil get trapped within your pores. Unlike whiteheads, these clogged pores stay open, causing the trapped oil to oxidize and turn black when exposed to air. Blackheads are most commonly found on the face, especially the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin), but can also appear on the back, chest, and shoulders. Blackheads and whiteheads are mild types of acne that usually form on the face, but they can also appear on the body.

Treatment Options for Blackheads:

  • Extractions: Performed by a trained professional, extractions involve manually removing blackheads using specialized tools. This is a highly effective method for stubborn blackheads, but requires proper technique to avoid scarring.

  • Chemical Peels: Tailored chemical peels can help loosen dead skin cells and oil trapped within pores, promoting smoother, clearer skin. Options include salicylic acid peels, known for their ability to unclog pores and reduce oil production and black peel.

  • Pristine Microdermabrasion: This gentle exfoliating treatment uses fine crystals to buff away the top layer of dead skin cells, minimizing the appearance of blackheads and promoting a smoother texture.
